Household Item Donation Guidelines
You can donate most household items in good condition to your local Baton Rouge thrift store. Furniture donations are popular but remember they must be small items and small enough that one person can move them. Be sure all items are clean and free of stains, as they won’t always be accepted.
Acceptable Items
Formal clothing is not allowed in any thrift store, so don’t bother packing up your fine gowns or tuxedos. For a less formal look, you can donate business clothes (such as suits), casual clothes (such as t-shirts and jeans), and more. When it comes to shoes, you can also donate anything from flip flops to high heels. Non-clothing items that are accepted include dishes, furniture, books, CDs, and video games. If you want to make sure your donations are acceptable at a specific thrift store, simply search online before scheduling a pick-up.
